De Scriptoris // About the Poet
A Vagrant Scriptorium Built on Two Wheels
I operate as a modern goliard—a traveling cleric-poet utilizing both high-register typeset and low-register grit to document the edges of the map. My work does not sit in pristine academic halls; it is carried through rain, wind, and alkali dust inside waterproof bicycle panniers.
The foundation of this press was forged over the better part of a decade spent working in the vast isolation of National Parks, countered by years spent working the asphalt as an urban bicycle messenger. These two states of existence—the raw, deep observation of the wilderness and the urgent, high-velocity logistics of the city streets—shape everything I write.
Every piece of writing published by Hotspur Books is born from the rhythm of the road. The poetry is macaronic, bleeding languages together, typeset under the influence of changing geography. The press is entirely self-sustained, mobile, and ad hoc.
